Session 5 - The Scientific Revolution and Modern Philosophy
Feb 18, 2024 • Rick Carmickle
The scientific revolution of the seventeenth century brought a dramatic change in the way people understood the world. But it was the Christian worldview which fueled the fire that drove the scientific revolution. Intellectuals from all walks of life believed that a world created by God was a world that could be discovered and understood through science. At the same time, philosophical debates focused on questions of human knowledge, and what can be known, not only of the natural world, but also of God. In this class, we will consider Christian intellectual engagement in this rapidly changing world.
