Session 11 - The Influence of Augustine
Aug 18, 2024 • Rick Carmickle
This week we will discuss the influence of Augustine, the most significant theologian in Church history. The most prolific writer of the church fathers, Augustine stands between the classical world of antiquity and the Middle Ages. He was the first to articulate an understanding of the personal nature of our relationship with God, summed up in his famous quote, “You have made us for thyself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it finds its rest in you.” We will consider the thought of Augustine, who most directly impacted the course of Christian thought and practice.
